About Me

Hello, I’m Tina Ganja, a qualified psychotherapist and the founder of New Insights Therapy.

My passion for supporting people began at 18, when I volunteered with the National Schizophrenia Fellowship (now Rethink). A year later, I was selected by the Rank Foundation to train as a youth worker. During this time, I completed a BA in Informal and Community Education.

I went on to work in drug and alcohol services, providing counselling to individuals and later managing a busy service. This experience deepened my understanding of addictions, complex needs, and the importance of compassionate and consistent support.

I later completed a Master’s degree in Psychotherapy and Counselling at Regent’s University London, a leading institution for academic and clinical training.

My work then moved into the NHS, where I supported individuals affected by sexual violence, within a Sexual Assault Referral Centre. Alongside providing counselling, I trained as an ISVA (Independent Sexual Violence Adviser), offering both emotional and practical support during an incredibly difficult time in people’s lives.

I have been working in private practice since 2014, supporting individuals with a wide range of emotional difficulties, including anxiety, depression, stress, relationship challenges, trauma, addiction, and the impact of sexual violence.

My Approach

I take an integrative approach to therapy, which means I tailor my work to your individual needs. This may include talking therapies as well as eye movement desensitisation and reprocessing (EMDR), which is an evidence-based approach that can be particularly effective in working with trauma and distressing experiences.

My aim is to provide a safe and supportive environment where you can explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences at your own pace.

I believe that, despite life’s challenges, we all have the capacity to better understand ourselves and change how we respond to difficult experiences. I have seen this both personally and professionally, and it underpins the way I work.

We do not always see the world as it is, but as we are.
