“What’s the point in talking about my problems? Talking doesn’t change anything!”
This is something I hear often.
So, what is the point of talking?
We can all get caught in patterns of thinking, feeling, and behaving that make it hard to move forward. Breaking free from these patterns can feel almost impossible—especially when we are not fully aware of what is going on beneath the surface.
Psychotherapy offers a space to pause and explore these patterns more deeply. By reflecting on how we think, feel, and respond, we can begin to understand what might be keeping us stuck—because it’s hard to change something if we do not know what to change.
Working with a trained and qualified therapist provides a safe, confidential environment where you can talk openly, gain new perspectives and make sense of your experiences.
It is not just about talking—it is about understanding yourself, so that meaningful change becomes possible.
Why Therapy?
Support Offered
One to One Psychotherapy:
One-to-one therapy offers a safe, confidential space to talk openly about what is on your mind and explore the challenges you may be facing. The focus is entirely on you—your experiences, your goals, and what you need right now.
Therapy can support a wide range of difficulties. My role is to listen without judgement, help you make sense of your experiences, and support you in finding a way forward.
We work at your pace, building self-understanding, resilience, and healthier patterns, that support long-term change and personal growth.
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR):
EMDR is a powerful therapeutic approach that is endorsed by the UK’s National Institute of Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE), for treating trauma, especially post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
Sometimes distressing memories can feel “stuck,” continuing to trigger anxiety, intrusive thoughts, or strong emotional responses, long after the event has passed. EMDR uses guided eye movements or other forms of bilateral stimulation, to help the brain reprocess these experiences in a safer, more adaptive way.
Over time, this can reduce the emotional intensity linked to the memory, so it no longer feels as overwhelming in the present.
Clinical Supervision:
I offer clinical supervision for counsellors, psychotherapists, and trainees seeking a supportive and reflective space, to explore their practice.
Supervision is a collaborative process where we can explore client work, professional challenges, and your ongoing development.
I aim to create a space where you feel safe to bring whatever is on your mind—whether that is complex client material, ethical considerations, or your own responses to the work. Together, we focus on deepening understanding, supporting safe and ethical practice, and strengthening your confidence as a therapist.
Supervision is available either one to one or in groups.
